This is the story of the Visconti Castle of Pagazzano; indeed, different uses and needs make up its history. There are still those who remember how, as a child, they accompanied their grandfather to buy seeds inside the castle and even in its very rooms. Here, within its walls, the poet Petrarch stayed as a guest several times. And within its walls, a very young Francesco Bernardino Visconti, known to all as "the Unnamed," grew up, entrusted to his uncle, the archpriest Galeazzo Visconti, in 1595. Today, it hosts conferences, theater and music festivals, sculpture symposia, and educational workshops.

Urgnano Castle, or Rocca Albani, has a long and complex history, beginning in the 14th century as a Visconti fortification, with defensive and strategic functions along the main communication routes. After being the scene of clashes between factions, it passed to the Colleoni family, then to the Longhi family, and finally, in the 16th century, to the Albani counts. The latter transformed it into a stately home, retaining ownership until the 19th century. Acquired by the municipality in the 20th century, it now hosts cultural activities.
