A small wooden observation tower stands here at the edge of the forest, offering an unspectacular but beautiful view over the hilly landscape.

The old burial mounds are clearly visible in the beautiful heathland. Parking is available right next to the burial ground.

An old watermill, but no longer in operation. It looks like it's privately owned.

In the country shop you will find lots of regional products, so you can stock up on provisions for your tour. Or you can grab a roll to go, take a break here and enjoy the historic charm. The shop is located in a former sheep barn. This was built in 1614 and is one of the oldest surviving farm buildings in northern Germany. When the barn was renovated, the original character of the house was preserved. The project was funded by the German Foundation for Monument Protection.

The country shop not only offers products from the region, but you can also take a break with a fresh roll and delicious coffee next to the paddock. 😄 we were there for an event (asparagus New Year's Eve)

On the Lüneburg-Neetze road there is an extensive area with numerous archaeological monuments and monuments. The necropolis includes two megalithic tombs, numerous burial mounds, urn cemeteries and a hump burial ground. The group shows in an impressive way the close spatial juxtaposition of very different types of burial from different epochs.
