Lake Gaiano was once one with Lake Endine. Then, according to geologists, millennia ago the Borlezza Stream, continually excavating its bed, created a dividing rise to the east, at the level of the current Cava Cantamessa, creating the two lakes. The lake is small and particularly muddy to the east, with a large reed bed. From here, the Oneto Stream flows, flowing through the small plain before flowing into the Borlezza River at Pianico, its tributary. It is shallow and hosts several species of aquatic birds, depending on the season. A beautiful cycle/pedestrian path has been created on the southern side of the lake, along pre-existing paths, allowing visitors to safely enjoy the beauty of the area. Almost parallel to the lake, but further east and below the slopes of Monte Na, is the Valle del Freddo, separated from the lake by a small wooded ridge.

Riva di Solto overlooks a stretch of the western shore of Lake Iseo from which you can enjoy the view of Sebino, Monte Isola and Corna Trentapassi. A few hundred meters from the town is the natural amphitheater of Bugn, a magnificent conformation of stacks overlooking the lake that hide small bays and gravel beaches. Riva di Solto is quiet, beauty and romance. A small medieval village, with its ancient buildings, centuries-old gardens and the suggestive lakeside, fascinates with the elegance of times gone by.

The current Terzi Castle has very ancient origins, dating back to the Early Middle Ages. It was originally a fortified Benedictine monastery, destroyed by Charlemagne's Frankish army in the 8th century. Rebuilt as a castle in the 9th/10th century, it belonged to the Mozzo family and then to the Suardo family, who extended their dominion over the entire valley, also owners of the Bianzano Castle. In the 15th century, following the imposition by the Venetian Republic of the demolition of every stronghold present in the territory of the Serenissima, the Suardo family, in order to avoid its destruction, made it a stately home. Finally, the property passed to the Terzi family, who sold it in 1930, by then completely abandoned and in ruins, to the British countess Winifred Terni de Gregory. From 1937 to 1945, she renovated the property as it appears today, including the gardens. Currently the entire complex is temporarily rented for important events or weddings.

Excellent viewpoint in the northern part of Lake Iseo, at the beginning and end of the rock/tunnel route between Castro and Riva di Solto.
