Great scenery and relaxing driving

The Aar Valley Cycle Path is an idyllic cycle path in Hesse, stretching from the source near Orlen to the mouth of the Aar River in Diez. It is considered particularly family-friendly and offers a relaxing ride through green landscapes, far from traffic.

Very helpful if you have a minor defect. But be aware that the tools at many of these stations are broken. It's fine for smaller jobs (no tools for tightening spokes).

🚉 Bad Schwalbach Train Station – a Relic of a Bygone Era A quiet witness to history amidst the countryside: Bad Schwalbach's historic train station exudes the charm of the old Aartal Railway, which once connected Wiesbaden with Diez. Where steam locomotives once puffed through the Taunus Mountains, quiet nostalgia now reigns. The beautifully preserved station building recalls the spa town's heyday – back then, the railway took guests directly to the healing springs. Ideal for a short rest with a view of bygone mobility – and a place that quietly dreams that perhaps one day trains will arrive again. 🚲 Tip: The Aartal Cycle Path runs right here – perfect for pausing and taking photos. Unfortunately, the restaurant is currently closed. However, there is a restored carriage on the tracks at the station with vending machines for refreshments, as well as seating.
