The Castle of San Vigilio is the fortification located at the highest point on the Bergamo Hills. From its 496 meters above sea level, it dominates the entire territory: from the city, to the valleys, to the plain. Only the summit of Monte Bastia is located higher, to be precise 22 meters at an altitude of 518 m above sea level. Once out of the Scaletta dello Scorlazzone, take Via al Castello on the right, which guarantees an excellent overview of the Upper Town and the plain.
