    The Alessandro Taccani hydroelectric power plant is a work of architectural art located in Trezzo sull'Adda, along the right bank of the Adda river. Founded by industrialist Cristoforo Benigno Crespi, the plant has been generating clean and sustainable energy for over a century. Every year, it produces around 60 million kilowatt hours, equivalent to the average annual consumption of 24 thousand families. Behind her, the medieval castle of Trezzo, with its 42 meter high square tower towering above it.

      Portion of the Adda river really interesting, panoramic, relaxing and with historical content.
      The tranquility of its waters makes it suitable for long walks along its embankment on a comfortable and safe cycle-pedestrian path with a thin dirt bottom.
      The architectural-historical interest is given by the presence of the Treccani power plant and the Castle, both of which can be visited (unfortunately not now in the covid period)
      For bird watchers there are numerous specimens of coots, grebes, swans, mallards, cormorants and other avian species

          To be precise, the hydroelectric plant is called TACCANI (Treccani is the encyclopaedia) from the name of the designer.

          Alessandro Taccani (1876-1947) was a young graduate in industrial engineering from the Istituto Tecnico Superiore in Milan, when Cristoforo Benigno Crespi involved him to build his hydroelectric plant along the Adda.

          A great officer and knight of labour, the engineer Taccani was president of the consortium for the alienation of electrical materials left over from the war (1920-1924) and was commissioner for Italy at the Basel exhibition (1926).

          Taccani disappeared on 8 July 1947 at the Gavazzeni clinic in Bergamo.
