Spilamberto Castle Park

Reproduction of the town of Spilamberto in Modena, located on the cycle path between Settecani and Spilamberto.

Between Spilamberto and Castelnuovo Rangone, in the province of Modena, this cycle path among the orchards is very charming. You can even see a small stream, the Rio Secco, which in terms of water flow does not do much to deny its name.

Having belonged to the Rangoni marquises for over 650 years, in 2005 the fortress was purchased by the municipality of Spilamberto which began the restoration process. The first works began in 2011 and allowed the courtyard and some spaces connected to it to be restored to its ancient beauty and made usable. The new square in front of the fortress was inaugurated in 2017. The fortress is located in a park that is almost always open and perfect for walks.

A fun cycle path along the Panaro separates Vignola and Savignano. It is perfect for those who want to walk or cycle in nature. The surface is mostly dirt and along this path you can also easily see car bridges over the Panaro and the city centers on both banks of the river.

Unfortunately, Spilamberto's small miniature "site" has now been abandoned to itself for a few years and is going down the drain. Very little would be needed from the municipal administration
