Situated at 400 metres above sea level on a tuff ridge between the valleys of the Rabbi and Bidente Ronco rivers, it is a destination to be conquered by all bikers. It can be reached from Meldola, Predappio or Forlì with various routes through vineyards and cultivated fields with breathtaking views and with sections of slopes of up to 14%.

This piazza was dedicated to the “Hero of Two Worlds” in 1885. Until the mid-18th century it was unpaved and served as a market, cattle market and meeting place for business. It was also used as an arena for games such as “pallone a bracciale”. In this square are the six arches that give access to the Rocca and connect it with the inner courtyard (Piazza Fratti), the old courtyard of the fortress. For a long time the square maintained an open and picturesque appearance with areas of land planted with mulberry trees. Over time many buildings were built around it, often using reused materials from the destruction of the tower of the Rocca at the end of the 18th century. On the west side of the square, next to the clock tower, stood the birthplace of Pellegrino Artusi, where he was attacked by the Passatore gang. In March 1961 the house was demolished after a change of ownership.

In the 70s/80s it was also used as a summer centre.

Studies carried out over time place the origin of the Rocca delle Caminate around the year 1000. It was probably built within a pre-existing village or on a Roman fortress. Some hypotheses concern the attribution of the name: the first connects it to the configuration of the walkway that accompanies the battlements of the upper perimeter, while another refers to the existence of rooms equipped with fireplaces or hearths. Certainly suggestive is that which derives the name from the existence in the area of ovens equipped with fireplaces to produce building lime starting from the limestone rock called "spungone". Nice passage, not too technical, you enter and exit through two gates (remember to close them after the passage) about a kilometer long. Then it becomes a gravel....Beautiful.
