The Della Gherardesca family had the building constructed in 1703 in memory of their ancestor Guido, a hermit who lived between the 11th and 12th centuries.

It's certainly a beautiful city. But cyclists aren't welcome here at all. When I tried to enter from the south, I was accosted violently. So aggressively that I retreated. As a result, I never got to see the old town. There are many comparably beautiful cities with friendly people in Tuscany.

The brake pads on my wife's bike were replaced very friendly and professionally at a reasonable price. Mille Grazie 😎

The famous tree-lined road immortalized in the verses of the poet Giosuè Carducci The suggestive Viale dei Cipressi is located in the municipality of Castagneto Carducci, and is a five-kilometer-long tree-lined road that connects the Oratory of San Guido to the historic center of the village of Bolgheri. A very long straight road, flanked by two rows of very thick centuries-old cypress trees, 2540 in total, which was created in the 19th century when, by rebuilding the Via Regia, perpendicular roads were created to connect it with the inland towns and villages: one of these was precisely the Stradone di San Guido.
