The stilt houses, known as trabocchi, are typical of the Adriatic coast of Abruzzo. These fishing gallows, or fish scales, were used for fishing. The Trabucco Punto Isolata is now a restaurant where you can eat fish. Be sure to check the opening times beforehand, otherwise you'll end up like us and it's a day off.

One of the few trabocchi, not transformed into a restaurant and visitable thanks to the availability of the custodian who invites you to enter, telling you the history of this artifact. Located in Abruzzo, in Fossacesia, SS16, 66020 Piane Favaro. It is a wonderful place to see. Highly recommended for families and couples. You can appreciate the beauty of the sea and the uncontaminated territory. It is easily reached from the road and the cycle path in the old railway path that runs along the entire promontory of the trabocchi. The only access to the trabocco is the former railway track.

The location is one of the most beautiful stretches of the Trabocchi cycle path. The combination of tunnel, rocks and overflows make it suggestive. Right here, a few hundred meters away, the "D'Annunzio Hermitage" is projected towards the sea, also called "Hermitage of the Portelle" due to its location in the Portelle area, it owes its fame to the stay that the poet Gabriele D'Annunzio spent there , together with Barbara Leoni, in the summer of 1899. It is worth seeing it from the promontory and not from the cycle path.

The work is visible on the Via Verde not far from the overflow Punta Tufano and the small port of Vallevò in the municipality of Rocca San Giovanni (CH). The enigmatic and symbolic beached turtle was created by Victor Fotso in 2022 and installed on a rock lapped by the waves of the Adriatic Sea to symbolize a bridge of cultures, given that it bears on its carapace both the symbols of Rocca San Giovanni and those of Cameroon , native land. The ceramist's work was part of a group of works created for the third edition of "A breath of art - 20 artists for 20 villages". The animal that re-emerges from the waters, according to the artist's vision, carrying on its carapace everything it contains: remains of past civilizations and ancestral traditions, including African ones, seals the union between peoples and makes different daily lives synergistic but similar.

The Costa dei Trabocchi is a cycle/pedestrian path that allows you to admire the platforms stretched out over the sea used by fishermen. These buildings are typical of the central-southern part of Abruzzo: it is possible to have lunch or dinner inside them.
