素晴らしい避難小屋!!!! 一晩過ごすことを皆さんに勧めます。本当に素晴らしい経験です。

We spent one night in the winter room, which has room for three sleeping mats (possibly four). There are wool blankets and a camp bed.

The bivouac must be taken care of: don't leave practically useless objects behind with the excuse of leaving them for someone else to come. A gas canister with enough gas for perhaps one cigarette is best taken back down the valley. I threw away the cards last time and replaced them with new ones. The bivouac should be left "slightly" better than it was when you found it.

The refuge is managed by the CAI section of Avezzano, it is not always open and you need to call to reserve beds or other activities (cell +39 345 162 6570). It doesn't have a winter room, so if you arrive and it's closed you have to camp outside. The refuge is located in a wonderful area: right at the entrance to the Majelama valley and at the foot of the imposing Cafornia mountain.

The Piero Concia refuge is located at an altitude of 1,390 meters and is managed by the CAI section of Avezzano. It is managed as a regular refuge in the months of July and August, in other periods you can find shelter in the winter room (always open).
