We spent one night in the winter room, which has room for three sleeping mats (possibly four). There are wool blankets and a camp bed.

The refuge is managed by the CAI section of Avezzano, it is not always open and you need to call to reserve beds or other activities (cell +39 345 162 6570). It doesn't have a winter room, so if you arrive and it's closed you have to camp outside. The refuge is located in a wonderful area: right at the entrance to the Majelama valley and at the foot of the imposing Cafornia mountain.

The Piero Concia refuge is located at an altitude of 1,390 meters and is managed by the CAI section of Avezzano. It is managed as a regular refuge in the months of July and August, in other periods you can find shelter in the winter room (always open).

Located in a suggestive place, the Valle della Dogana, in front of the mound called Monte della Dogana, near the La Spina spring.

Rifugio Capanna di Sevice is a high altitude refuge in the Monte Velino massif, at an altitude of 2119 metres. It is located on the Piano dei Cavalli, between Monte Velino and Monte Rozza, with a view of the Three Sisters. It can be reached from Santa Maria in Valle Porclaneta or from Passo le Forche

The Panei Magrini refuge is a mountain refuge located at 2178 meters above sea level, in the Sirente-Velino Regional Natural Park. It is located in a panoramic and suggestive position, between the peaks of Monte Magnola and Monte Sirente.

In the refuge there is a telephone to be able to call for help in case of need and 2 beds
