This church in Erle has a patron saint's name that is truly on everyone's lips, but only a few will know the person behind it: Saint Sylvester's commemoration day is December 31st. He lived at the end of the third and beginning of the fourth century and was Bishop of Rome when Emperor Constantine recognized Christianity as a religion with the Edict of Milan - known as the "Edict of Toleration" - and thus ended (at least temporarily) the period of bloody persecution of Christians.

Even today, the quiet Krudenburg still exudes a touch of bygone times, which is partly due to the remains of the historic Krudenburg castle house. A two-story tower remains today from the former castle complex from the 14th century.

The fountain with pub is a great place to take a break in the charming Black Heath moorland in Heiden. Not only the so-called artesian well, a special type of spring, is a highlight of the area, but also the low-traffic paths with a surface suitable for racing bikes.
