The Church of SS Cosma and Damiano, in San Cosma Albanese, is the main sanctuary dedicated to medical saints. The Parish of San Giacomo in San Giacomo di Acri was built in 1892 thanks to the donation of Giacomo Falcone. Raised to the status of parish in 1921, it was devastated by a fire in 1935. Thanks to the efforts of the parish priest Giuseppe Violani, reconstruction began, which was interrupted during the war years and resumed in 1952. Despite the difficulties, in 1975, Don Mario Brunocilla completed the works of restoration.
