The Sentiero Italia starts right in Camigliatello, near the pharmacy. The first stretch of woodland is flat and runs alongside a stream: one side is covered in beech trees (facing north), while the other is covered in pine trees. Water is so abundant that this valley is known as the "Sette Acque" (Seven Waters).

As a result, entire regions were once completely deforested by charcoal burning, and it is only thanks to later reforestation that forests have grown again and nature can be seen.

Camigliatello Silano is the mountain town you just don't expect in Calabria! It is a really cute and charming village. There are many bars and above all restaurants where you can eat local delicacies. When it's in season, raw porcini mushrooms seasoned with oil are not to be missed. Many of the paths that enter the wonderful woods of Sila start from here.

If you come on an excursion to the Camigliatello Silano area you must visit this place. The site is managed by the FAI and can usually be visited from spring to autumn. The route is short and also suitable for families. The specimens of larch pines kept here are impressive for their beauty and size!

This stretch of path runs next to the small stream which, near the town of Camgliatello Silano, forms a waterfall and is then channeled into the Fiuggi spring. It is a very beautiful walk inside a beech and larch pine forest.

Alias Paninazzo Silano. Homemade bread sandwiches to be filled with typical Sila and non-Sila ingredients. It is on the road at the beginning of the route. We took the opportunity to have lunch along the way. Excellent value for money.
