The Sentiero Italia starts right in Camigliatello, near the pharmacy. The first stretch of woodland is flat and runs alongside a stream: one side is covered in beech trees (facing north), while the other is covered in pine trees. Camigliatello Silano is the mountain town you just don't expect in Calabria! It is a really cute and charming village. There are many bars and above all restaurants where you can eat local delicacies. When it's in season, raw porcini mushrooms seasoned with oil are not to be missed. Many of the paths that enter the wonderful woods of Sila start from here.
