After the strenuous hike to the summit, you can enjoy the wonderful view and chat with other tourists. The last 200-300 meters are steep and you have to climb before you reach the summit. The path is secured with ropes in some places. You don't need any special equipment, but a helmet is really recommended because stones and other objects fall from above. There may be a lot of people here and there may be queues.

The ticket for Durmitor National Park is valid all day. We were able to enter 2 different parks with the same ticket. Same day, ticket is valid for 24 hours.

Definitely advise an 8am start from the car park if you wish to avoid traffic jams on the fixed cables at the top. Fixed cables themselves are ok and sections are not difficult, just a little exposed for people without experience.

Stunning views from the top with not many people getting there. After visiting the summit we took the way to the Black lake and it turned out to be much longer than both Openstreetmap and Komoot say. It took us 4.5 hours, not 3.3-3.5 and we’re in a good shape. The trail declines firstly through the stones, hence care is required, and then through shrubland, with a lot of small ascents and descents, and it looked like it hadn’t been used for some time.

Best to be there in the morning. Otherwise it is difficult to find a parking space.

This view of the mountains after the wooden bridge is amazing. The path around the lake is full of magnificent colors and a breathtaking landscape. There are several hiking trails through the Durmitor National Park. A 3-day ticket is worth it for great experiences and wonderful moments to remember forever.

Be sure to go to the second lake, which is only separated by a mountain. Because it's just a lake. What I loved was the sunset on the lake. Everything was free when we were there in May, not even a possibility to pay anything. In May there were still remains of snow along the way, but the road was cleared. Side routes over 2000m altitude were partly not yet passable.
