Warning: Extremely steep. I should have read the comments here. It's almost impossible to ride up here on a road bike from the German side when the ground is wet. Extremely beautiful, but even as a climb fan, I probably won't be back.

A beautiful route with great challenges. We drove the route from Berchtesgaden to Weißenbach. A large hiking bus drives from Berchtesgaden to the top of the pass. We had to stop when it came towards us from the top of the pass. We managed to get going again up the mountain, 😅but it's not that easy when you're travelling with luggage. Our bikes with e-assistance and large mountain sprockets helped us. I didn't put my brakes through the small section with a 30% gradient, so I pushed the short section.

Hirschbichl is a particular challenge with a racing bike, around 600m with an average gradient of 26%! Push if necessary, because you will be treated to a fabulous idyll in the Hirschbichl National Park.

In the meantime with decent climbs

The Hirschbichl pass lies at an altitude of 1,183 meters. From Weißbach, you have to climb around 500 meters in altitude. Anyone who makes it here without a motor can be truly proud.

One of the most demanding climbs in the region with at least 2-3 ramps with gradients of up to 30%. From Weißbach to the top of the Hirschbichl pass at 1183 meters, you have to overcome around 500 meters in altitude. Anyone who climbs here without getting off their bikes needs to be in top shape. The long descent towards Hintersee makes up for this, however.

The climb is challenging, but if you manage it and treat yourself to a little reward, you can do it again 😉

The border between Germany and Austria is in the town of Hirschbichl. Shortly afterwards you reach the Hirschbichl pass.
