It's one of Andalusia's most iconic villages, perched on a rock with spectacular views of the Guadalete River. Its narrow, steep streets, whitewashed houses, and viewpoints invite you to wander leisurely. Furthermore, its historic center, declared a Historic-Artistic Site, perfectly reflects the essence of the White Villages.

Puerto Serrano is a farming village located in a rolling rural area at the northwestern edge of the Sierra de Cádiz mountains. The town is situated just off the highway from Seville to Ronda, near the border with the province of Seville, but is easily overlooked by those heading to either city. Puerto Serrano, modern in appearance and with a population of about 7,000, is located near the Guadalete River and, to the south, a hill called Picacho.

I will especially remember the steep slopes to get there.

Beautiful sandy beach next to the reservoir. There are hiking trails that allow you to explore nature and enjoy the views.

The San Miguel Bridge in Arcos de la Frontera is a historic and picturesque place. This medieval bridge is known for its architecture and its historical importance in the region.

The Molino de Siré is a historic molino in Puerto Serrano, located in the Sierra de Cádiz. Originally built as a Carmelite convent in the 17th century, it was later converted into an oil and grain mill. The molino has a beautiful fachada with a large tower and a central square that has now been adapted to the function of the mill. The building has been recognised as a Site of Special Cultural Heritage by the Junta de Andalucía.

The Puerta Matrera is the only remaining gate of the original city wall of Arcos de la Frontera. This gate connects the old town centre with the Barrio Bajo. It is a historically important building that was restored in the 17th and 18th centuries. From here you can still see remains of the city wall between the houses. The gate also has a small chapel with a statue of the Virgen del Pilar, which has been recently restored.

This church was built around 1530 on the site of a 14th-century church, which itself had taken the place of a large Moorish mosque. The main façade, by Don Alonso de Baena, is a perfect example of the Plateresque style. The church, which is accessed via the neoclassical right-hand side façade, has the plan of a basilica with three naves separated by sturdy columns supporting star vaults. On the high altar is a 17th-century altarpiece (Assumption of the Virgin) by Jerónimo Hernández and Juan Bautista Vázquez. Behind the high altar is the octagonal apse of the former Mudejar church. The frescoes (The Coronation of the Virgin) that once adorned the high altar were transferred to the wall to the left of the altar in the 1960s.
