The Villares Peri-Urban Park is nestled in the heart of the Sierra Morena Mountains. This peaceful spot is a place where walking and cycling along its trails make it a truly special experience. It also has barbecue grills where you can spend some quality time recharging your batteries.

This climb is colloquially known as the 14% climb, as its final section features ramps of this gradient. The section is paved in good condition but lacks a shoulder, making this route up to the Los Villares peri-urban park somewhat unsafe for cyclists. When we reach the summit, there are two options: going straight ahead and continuing the climb, but with a lesser gradient, will take us to the Los Villares campsite, a peri-urban park of the same name, where a winding road will take us to Cerro Muriano. Another option is to turn left, which will take us to Lagar de la Cruz, where there are several alternative routes.

The castle "Castillo de Almodóvar" is an impressive fortress that stands prominently on the El Redondo hill. In the 20th century, the castle was extensively restored by Rafael Desmaissières y Farina, Count of Torralva. This work gave the castle its current striking appearance, which seems very medieval, although many elements have been reconstructed. The castle was used for the filming of the series Game of Thrones. It served as the backdrop for Highgarden, the seat of House Tyrell. In October 2024, the seventh edition of the Age of Empires tournament sponsored by Red Bull took place in the castle under the name "Red Bull Wololo El Reinado".

The castle complex, whose origins date back to the 8th century, is remarkably well preserved and has been restored with great attention to detail.

It's really worth a visit. It feels like you can visit every little tower and many rooms. You can move around freely and it's a great place for children. With lots of "little things" the visit becomes an experience. People walk around in costumes. At one point medieval music is played. Then a legend is told and you can try your hand at being Arthur on one of the towers. And these are just a few of the great ideas. The GoT filming locations are documented in photos.

Villaviciosa de Córdoba is a Spanish municipality in the province of Córdoba, Andalusia. In 2016 it had 3,374 inhabitants. Its surface area is 468.75 km² and it has a density of 7.2 inhabitants/km².

It is known that this bridge was ordered to be built by the Infante Ferdinand in 1410 due to his presence in these lands and the always necessary improvement of the Córdoba – Seville route on the right bank of the Guadalquivir. The works were almost completed in 1428 but stopped, a situation that continued for many years, apparently until a century later. It was a large bridge made of limestone ashlars. It preserves 9 basins, eight of them with their cutwaters clearly visible upstream, and 10 arches, three of them complete. The arches are semicircular and were built using wooden falsework, which is evidenced by the eight beveled mechinales that most of the piers maintain on their intrados. The bridge road is about 6 meters wide and, although it is not preserved, it surely must have had parapets on the sides.
