St. John's Church was built between 1881 and 1882 according to the designs of the district master builder Gerlhoff. The church is characterized by brick architecture with a granite ashlar base and has a rectangular floor plan with a semicircular apse in the east. The tower is square with four gables and an octagonal spire. The interior features a flat ceiling with ornamental painting, which was restored in 1983. The interior consists of simple, period wooden elements. Historically, the first church in Arendsee was built as early as 1381, but it was rebuilt in 1681 and destroyed by fire in 1831. The current church was rebuilt between 1881 and 1882. The church belongs to the Stendal church district of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany.
