The Kleidersellerweg, which runs along the Lages and Spitzteich ponds behind the Riddagshausen monastery, was named after the "honest Kleidersellers of Braunschweig" (or "Kleidersellers" for short). This association, founded in 1859, collected objects of cultural and local history from the city and the state of Braunschweig that were worth preserving for a local history museum that was yet to be founded.
