The Last Bear in Westphalia In 1446, the last bear in Westphalia was "killed" near the Dernebockholt farm. It was driven to Münster Town Hall with a whistle and a sigh, harnessed to seven pages (horses). "And if they hadn't killed it, they would have killed all the people."
