According to the information panel: The house was owned by the Knights of Karras and was first mentioned in 1406. At that time, Kreyern was a part of Coswig and consisted of three houses and a chapel. In 1542, Elector Moritz wanted to expand his hunting grounds and incorporate Kreyern into them. This event gave rise to the legend of Karras. The knights sold the forester's lodge to Elector August and withdrew from Coswig. Since the 17th century, the house has been used as a forestry office. From 2002 to 2005, the Kreyern forester's lodge underwent extensive renovations and is now the headquarters of the Moritzburg Forestry Office.

The Spitzgrund Mill was first mentioned in 1531. With the permission of the Knight von Karras, the mill began operation, where farmers from Coswig and the surrounding area had their grain milled. It was a flour mill powered by the damming of the Lockwitzbach stream. The villagers came to the mill along Spitzmüllerweg (Moritzburger Straße) to buy bread from the Spitzmüller, or they went to the Schiffsmühle in Kötitz, as they had no other option if they didn't make their own bread. In 1688, Johann Georg Böhme was the Spitzmüller at the mill on Spitzberg. In 1820, a taproom was added to the grain mill. Here, farmers could shorten the wait while enjoying a glass of wine while their grain was milled. The water power of the stream, the limestone in the area, and the stone from the quarries in Friedewald led to the construction of a sawmill here. In 1820, a sawmill was added next to the grain mill. In 1856, the miller Karl Krille married the sawmill owner's daughter. Thus, both mills became family-owned. Over the years, Karl Krille handed over his business to his son Theodor, who ran it from 1889 onward. The sawmill was transferred to the state forestry service in 1949. The Spitzgrundmühle pub was taken over by the HO and renamed the "HO-Gaststätte Spitzgrundmühle." In 1970, the pub's beer garden was used as an open-air cinema for the Spitzgrund development, which, however, only lasted a short time. In 1981, the HO-Gaststätte Spitzgrundmühle opened under the management of the Brose family. The pub was given a new lease of life and was well received by the local community. The HO-Gaststätte gained brief popularity through the five performances of cabaret artist O.F. Weidling. His fame served as good advertising for the Spitzgrundmühle and the town of Coswig, as the show was broadcast on television. His show was called "Treff mit O.F." (Meeting with O.F.). Theodor Krille's daughter lived in his parents' house until her death in 1990. In 1992, Hans-Jürgen Krille acquired the property and had it renovated in 1998.
