The city gates form the entrance to the town square in Neumarkt-Sankt Veit. It's hard to imagine that trucks had to pass through here before the bypass.

For centuries, the moated castle has shaped the image and history of Taufkirchen an der Vils, an Upper Bavarian community in the eastern district of Erding. When and by whom the castle was originally built is not known. Traces of a seat of power in this place can be traced back to the Middle Ages.
