Very nice wide cycle path on the dam.

Lake Tegel is located in the Berlin district of Tegel, in the Reinickendorf borough. With a surface area of 450 hectares (including almost 54 hectares of islands), it is the city's second-largest lake after Lake Müggelsee and forms a roughly five-kilometer-long branching bulge of the Havel River. It is designated as a Class IV waterway. It is legally part of the Havel-Oder Waterway (HOW) federal waterway. It is primarily used by water sports enthusiasts and passenger ships. The Spree-Havel Waterways and Shipping Authority is responsible for its administration.

The photos were taken at times when it is actually beautiful here. Until 2019, the swimming areas were limited and you could relax. Unfortunately, that has changed and if you are out and about here on warm weekends, it is no longer nice because people are ruthlessly pushing nature back. Bathing areas have been created in protected and fenced-in places ... it is a tragedy and nobody is doing anything. As a cyclist, you are then encouraged to drive considerately and usually very rudely pointed out to the point of viciously slowing down. I will not be dissuaded from reaping the beauties of this magnificent path, but avoid times when this is no longer possible. And beware, dear cycling friends, bicycles are not allowed in Tegel, at least I conclude from the road surface and the impossibility of getting from the train to the lake. There is even a threat of fines, unlike for rowdy behavior on the lake shore.

Fantastically beautiful at sunset. Very varied route with sections through the forest. Still easy to drive on. All in all very balanced.

In addition to ships and people, there are always many seabirds cavorting here.
