The Protestant St. Mary's Church in Jarmen, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, was built between 1863 and 1864 and is one of the most important ecclesiastical buildings in the region. A special feature is the bell dating from 1409, one of the oldest bells of the former Pomeranian Protestant Church.

At least there's a small stretch of this road where you can enjoy a decent path.

A bridge takes you over the Peene here. There are various theories about where the river's name comes from. One says that the name comes from the Slavic word Pěna, which means "foam". Whatever the case, the Peene originates from several source rivers, all of which have Peene in their name.

Demmin is an underrated small town. A detour is highly recommended for anyone travelling through Mecklenburg Switzerland. From the north, the town is practically the gateway to this region. During and after World War II, the town's citizens had to endure a lot of destruction. Despite this, enough substance and structure has been preserved and has been maintained in recent years to give an idea of how rich the town is in culture and history. The old warehouses at the port on the Peene River are examples of this and are a fantastic feature of the townscape. The same applies to the church and the medieval parcelling of the town centre.
