The hike took about 60 mins for me but count on 60-90 mins one way. The Google Map Walk mode is accurate and I followed that. The visitor center also recommended it. It passes the Gergeti Cafe.

The small mountain church of Gergeti was built at the foot of the Kazbek. It is one of the main attractions in Georgia and has perhaps the best view of the Prometheus Mount Kazbek. The history of the Georgian Orthodox church complex in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region dates back to the 14th century. Framed by the mountain giants of the Greater Caucasus, at an altitude of 2,180 meters, there is a wonderful panoramic view down to Stepantsminda and the surrounding mountains. This view alone is worth the trip. The church itself is one of the most important religious buildings in Georgia and functions as a place of pilgrimage. The Gergeti Trinity Church, (Georgian გერგეტის სამება; Gergetis Sameba) is a Georgian Orthodox church complex in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, Qazbegi Municipality. The complex consists of a 14th-century domed church and bell tower, as well as a council building (Georgian საბჭეო), which was added to the southern wall of the main church in the 15th century.[1] The church has a rectangular floor plan. Its dome rests on the two western free-standing columns and the walls of the eastern apse. The facade and dome of the church are decorated with Georgian ornaments. The ornaments are also on the walls of the bell tower. The Gergeti Sameba Church was a main church of the historical province of Chevi. Unfortunately, the majority of visitors can be chauffeured up by car, so it's always quite crowded, especially when the weather is nice. The name "Gergeti" (Georgian გერგეტი) comes from the disappeared Georgian village of Gergeti on the right bank of the Tergi River opposite the center of the region, the city of Stepantsminda. The Church of Sameba was built in Gergeti and still bears the name of this former village. -Wikipedia-
