A turning point: in the "Ohmsches Haus", which has been a venue for theater and concerts for decades, an orthopaedist practices today. The city decided to sell the house in 2018 because the renovation backlog for the half-timbered house on Lake Thielenburg was large and the city's finances were limited. The era for art and culture ends with a New Year's Eve concert in 2018. After refurbishment and conversion, a sports doctor now lives there. The Ohmsche Haus is a Low German hall house and the oldest two-tier house in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district, it was originally built in Langendorf in 1656. Since it threatened to deteriorate there, it was completely dismantled in 1971. In 1987 work began on rebuilding the house on Lake Thielenburger See in Dannenberg. The reopening took place on May 2nd, 1988, and since then the Ohmsche House has been used for events and small concerts, among other things. There are three other half-timbered houses next to Ohm's house, including a three-column and a four-column house (I'm not exactly sure about the fourth and last house built, but I will find out more and then update my tip).

Since I don't live far from Lake Thielenburg, it is one of my favorite locations for taking photos and going for a walk. There is a circular path around the lake that you can cycle or walk on. On the east side of the lake is the Dannenberger Toboggan Hill, at the foot of which there is a playground. A pair of swans lives on the lake and raises new offspring there every year. I'm always happy to be there and the scenery is really picturesque when the sun rises and sets.

From the location you have a beautiful view of the lake and the Dannenberger "skyline". A great photo spot and with a little luck you can also get the swan couple in front of your lens.
