A grassy, hidden single trail parallel to the highway. However, there are many thorny bushes. This trail is not recommended for shorts. Some sections are overgrown. Caution is advised.

With a size of around 29 hectares and a depth of 15 meters, the Unisee is the largest sand extraction lake in Bremen, which was created in the 1970s as part of highway construction projects. The good water quality of the groundwater-fed, slightly salty lake invites you to swim on hot summer days.

The Kleine Wümme river is to be renaturalized. Following an application by the Bremen Nature Conservation Authority, €4.3 million has been allocated to the "Near-Natural Kleine Wümme" project from the federal government's "Action Program for Natural Climate Protection." An additional half a million euros will come from the state of Bremen's funds for the five-year project. The "Near-Natural Kleine Wümme" project aims to enhance, renaturalize, and stabilize the Wümme's tributary over the next five years. According to the authority, the project will improve water quality and prevent the Kleine Wümme from drying up during droughts by creating new structures in the riverbed. On the north-eastern shore is the so-called university wilderness, a nature reserve, a nudist beach and, a little further west, the "HanseCamping Bremen" campsite. In the south-east, on the side facing the university, there are lawns with a sandy beach. Concerts and open-air events also occasionally take place there. The western end is currently used by surfers, anglers and divers. In 2005 and 2007, a planned waterski facility caused a dispute between a citizens' initiative and a majority in the advisory board on the one hand and the Senator for the Interior and Sport or the potential operator on the other. Investors have repeatedly planned to build hotels or wellness facilities in the north-eastern part of the lake against the will of the population. Since algae often form in summer, the lake must occasionally be closed to swimming. The lake and the nature reserve were created by sand being extracted during the expansion of the A 27 motorway and the construction of the university.
