Your vacation begins at the boathouse. From here, you'll enjoy a fantastic view of Lake Salem. Rowboats and pedal boats are available for rent at the rental station. Not far from the Morgenroth boathouse, you'll find a canoe launch site, a swimming area, a playground, and a campsite.

This beautiful weather mushroom with three benches, which invite you to take a break with a beautiful view of the lake, is located directly on the beautiful Salemer See below the parking lot not far from the boathouse. Under the large umbrella you will also find good protection from sun, rain, snow and hail. This is exactly what the weather mushrooms were made for and this one serves its purpose well. Anyone who parks their car in the parking lot directly by the lake in Salem is in the middle of a vacation paradise. The idyllic blue boathouse right in front of them is as much a part of Lake Salem as the blue of the water and the green of the wooded shores. From here, the path to the right leads to the playground and swimming area, as well as to the village community center with its lovely restaurant. And don't forget the canoe launch site. After all, Lake Salem is a beautiful canoeing area, stretching to Lake Piper on one side and crossing the Schaalsee Canal to Ratzeburg on the other. Once a year, numerous canoes and Canadian canoes flock to the lake: that's when the Canoe-Walking-Theater, the annual highlight of the "KulturSommer am Kanal" (Culture Summer on the Canal), invites you to a theater experience with paddles and life jackets. Back to the blue boathouse: Those who turn left from here can enjoy the wonderful lakeside path and, after a short walk, reach the Salem Lake nature campsite. The lake promenade on the Salem lake shore is pretty and invites you to take a little stroll. Here you can not only rent bicycles and boats, but also swim and children can play. There is something for everyone. Only dogs are unfortunately not allowed here from April 15th to September 30th. A pity.
