Nice swim to wake up. At the end it is 1.5 to 2 meters deep, but it is safer to simply descend through the water from the side along the jetty.

Peter Hiort Lorenzen; * January 24, 1791 in Hadersleben; † March 17, 1845 was a deputy in the Schleswig Estates Assembly in the 19th century and was one of the pro-Danish deputies there. Above all, his name is associated with the demand for linguistic and cultural equality for the Danes in the Duchy of Schleswig at the time of the state as a whole. This statue of Carl Mortensen stands in Damparken in front of the Hotel Norden and is a reminder of his work and work. A visit to the old Haderslev Church can be combined with a walk in the beautiful Dampark.

If you follow the path along the pond a short distance into the wildlife park, you'll reach Sophie's Spring. This spring is just one of several around the Haderslev Dam, most of which are located on the other side of the dam. Interestingly, on the other side of the pond, you can see several small fountains in the front gardens of the villa on Ribe Landevej. These are artesian springs, springs so powerful that they even erupt from the ground. But back to Sophie's Spring. This spring emerges precisely where the municipal boundary between the villages of Gammel Haderslev and Hoptrup used to run. The water is very clean, so anyone who's thirsty can easily drink it. There's plenty of groundwater where it originates, and it maintains a consistently cool temperature of 8 degrees Celsius. Don't be put off by the reddish deposits in the spring pond and outflow. It's ochre, meaning it's iron-rich, as Sophie's Spring contains about 100 times more of it than ordinary tap water. It's harmless; in fact, some people even believe spring water has healing properties, so just drink it. https://naturstyrelsen-dk.translate.goog/naturoplevelser/naturguider/haderslev-tunneldal/bergs-plads/sophies-kilde/?_x_tr_sl=da&_x_tr_tl=de&_x_tr_hl=de&_x_tr_pto=sc

A restored lake surrounded by beautiful nature, hiking trails and mountain bike trails. Surrounded by slopes and forest is the lake area Hindemade - but this has not always been the case. In 1935, the area, which was previously a swampy marsh and meadow area, was cut off from Haderslev Dam with a dike. With canals and pumps, the water was led away so that it became possible to cultivate and graze the land. Over the next 60 years, drainage and cultivation lowered the terrain in Hindemade up to 1.5 meters. In 1994, drainage was stopped, and instead approx. 47 hectares of meadows submerged. Subsequently, the area has developed into a really beautiful nature area, which both animals and humans have taken to. https://www.visithaderslev.dk/haderslev/planlaeg-din-tur/hindemade-gdk953366
