Good parking lot, although not very large: free of charge, with a small restaurant and clean toilets (use without consumption 50 cents). Good starting point for a hike!

Ideally located to end a hike here. Reasonable prices. Very friendly service. 50 cents (!) are charged for using the toilet. (*is justified for the many hikers who don't consume anything but use the toilet. All in all, I'd be happy to come back in the future.

The Haelen Bridge (text on the information board): The bridge, built in 1928-29 after the construction of the barrier wall on the Warche, was given the name "Haelen" (small village near the town of Diest), where the Belgian army repelled a German attack on August 12, 1914. This name replaced the name "Waterloo" which the Prussians gave to a new bridge over the Warche in 1861 when building the road between St. Vith and Baraque Michel (Belgian-Prussian border).
