巡礼路「Eifel-Camino」沿いにある、玄武岩で作られた素晴らしいヤコブ様式の石碑。マイフェルトからアイフェルにかけての素晴らしい遠景を楽しめる、サイクリストにもハイカーにも最適な休憩場所です。

この礼拝堂は1856年に聖堂の小さな宗教的建造物として建てられ、地元の住民たちの礼拝と祈りの場として使われていました。しかし、年月を経て建物は次第に荒廃し、最終的には放棄され、部分的に破壊されました。多くの年月が経過した後、2000年代初頭頃から、この建造物を文化的・歴史的な記念物として修復したいという願いが生まれました。ボランティアの努力と寄付により、礼拝堂は最終的に忠実に再建され、保存され、再び建てられました。

The oldest part of Bürresheim Castle is the imposing keep, a 12th-century tower that clearly reflects the castle's defensive origins. Over time, the castle developed into a complex double complex, consisting of the so-called Cologne Castle and the Trier Castle, which underwent different construction and expansion phases. While the Cologne Castle formed the older part and primarily served economic purposes—leading to its eventual decline—the Trier Castle was transformed into a prestigious residential palace, which continues to shape the character of the entire complex to this day.

Before you go up to the Römerwarte (stairs), there is a short but nice trail straight ahead, partly a bit overgrown and narrow, but definitely rideable. (Aug. 2025) This leads along the quarry down to a farm near the Nette.

These grain silos can be seen everywhere in Maifeld, at the agricultural cooperatives. Since a large amount of grain is grown in Maifeld, they are an integral part of the rural landscape.
