A shady resting place with a great view, located at a historic crossroads. As early as 1298, the German King Adolf of Nassau and his army are said to have rested here under a linden tree (“Adolfslinde”). He was on his way from Worms to Kaiserslautern via Göllheim. On July 2, 1298, the “Battle of Hasenbühl” took place in Göllheim with “the troops of the Habsburg Duke Albrecht of Austria and the German King Adolf of Nassau. The cause of the military conflict was the proclamation of Albrecht as anti-king of Adolf, who lost his life in this battle.” “The huge Adolfslinde fell victim to a hurricane in October 1952.” It was replanted on March 27, 1973. "The Counts of Nassau built the Holy Cross Church [at this crossroads] around 1469 [presumably in memory of their fallen king]. The building, a late Gothic hall church, larger than the village church, was elaborately constructed from sandstone [...]. After the Thirty Years' War, the church was destroyed. [...] The Rüssingers exploited the ruins as a quarry and many Rüssingen houses are partly made of stones from the church." Part 2: But he was probably one of the first to take an involuntary bath, and so the name "ox piano" slowly came into being, probably because the whole thing somehow reminds one of the black keys of a piano. Today, the people of Worms officially call it that and people like to come here, even if no ox has ever played the piano here.

Part 1: The Pfrimm is a small river that rises in the Palatinate and flows into the Rhine near Worms. For several kilometers, it marks the southern border of Rheinhessen towards the Palatinate. On the way through Worms, the Pfrimm is lined with a park, which invites you to take long walks with its shady trees. One attraction is the "Ochsenklavier", a crossing of the Pfrimm over stone blocks. It was built when there were not yet so many bridges over the river. The citizens did not like it at first and the mayor who had it built said: "You would have to be an ox not to get across there with dry feet."
