A fantastic cycling and hiking trail runs along the Elbe dike from Grünendeich and the surrounding villages. A bike ride or a lovely hike here is highly recommended 👍🏻.

A hike along the Este dike is highly recommended: a beautiful circular walk. Spring or autumn are best. In the height of summer, there's no shade. You'll be treated to various views of the surrounding nature, the Este River, and the thatched-roof houses. There are plenty of benches for taking a short break. The lock house is also very interesting and worth a visit 👍🏼.

Great view of Blankenese and the Elbe River, as well as the surrounding countryside. The Neuenfelde flood barrier is located here, and there's a snack bar open during the summer months.
