The water tower in Husum is one of the landmarks of the grey city by the sea. It is located in the city park within walking distance of the city center and was completed in 1902 for the central water supply of Husum. It has 135 steps from the ground to the viewing platform. The tower has a capacity of 350 m³ of drinking water, which was pumped from a depth of 60 - 80 m. The water tower was designed by the architect von Gerlach, who was responsible for the design drawings. The plot of land on which the tower stands (approx. 500 square meters) was purchased for 150 marks. The end of the water tower's original purpose came in 1961.
