Hello dear people, there were four shafts in the Ibbenbüren coal mine, all of which of course served their own purpose. In addition to the Thedor shaft (location: Ibbenbüren / Laggenbeck), the Bockraden shaft (location: Ibbenbüren / Bockraden), the Oynhausen shaft (location directly next to the coal-fired power station), there was also the north shaft, where most of the crew went to during their shift times. On the currently (February 18, 2025) vacant site, there were offices, changing rooms, warehouses and storage areas.

If you don't know the town of Mettingen, you should check it out. It's simply a beautiful village with a C&A history.

There is an arm dip pool and a wading pool. Unfortunately, there are only a few benches.

After a hike, you can enjoy a wonderful Kneipp treatment here and do something good for your blood circulation. The Kneipp pool is beautifully laid out and its seating is also an inviting place to take a rest.

The present church of St. Agatha in Mettingen was built from 1891 to 1894 according to plans by the Münster architect Wilhelm Rincklake and consecrated on September 17, 1895 by Bishop Hermann Jakob Dingelstad.
