There are seals!

The Northern shore of Loch Fleet, backed by Balblair Wood offers a lovely viewpoint. The large tidal basin supports a huge variety of wildlife, with a large area of sands exposed at low tide. At such times you might spot seals on the banks and waders feeding in the shallow waters.

Managed by Scotland’s Nature Agency, Loch Fleet has three interlocking areas: the coastal, beach and sand dune area; the tidal saltwater loch fleet; and the river Fleet and alder marshland. Watch wading birds, seals and seabirds in the tidal area and look out for ospreys and otters upstream.

Keep a look out for the seals on route, you are virtually guaranteed to see them on this single track road.
