Altwied, with its many half-timbered houses, is always worth a visit. There are castle ruins, an entrance gate, an old tower, and much more to discover. There's a large parking lot in front of the gate, and there's also a restaurant.

Near the campsite at the Wiedschleife in Roßbach, a suspension bridge crosses the Wied River. It rocks slightly as you walk across it. From the bridge, you have beautiful views of the tree-lined stream. On hot summer days, it's also worth taking off your shoes and treating your feet to a refreshing dip in the cool river water.
