The Wolgastsee is an inland lake on the island of Usedom in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, on the border with Poland. The lake is located south of the seaside resort of Ahlbeck in the area of the municipality of Korswandt. It is around 1.4 kilometers long, 0.45 km wide and has an average depth of 4.1 meters. The lake was formed during the last ice age. The shore offers many seabirds an ideal breeding and resting area. The body of water is almost completely surrounded by beech forest. Hike Wolgastsee Wolgastsee and Schwarzes Herz From the Baltic Sea resort of Ahlbeck in the southeast of Usedom, hikers can reach the small community of Korswandt in the hinterland via Zirowberg. Korswandt is situated in a particularly scenic location on the Wolgastsee. A hiking trail leads around this very clean inland lake, which is located in the middle of a dense forest and is highly recommended for Usedom holidaymakers. The circular hiking trail is of a manageable length, so that hikers have the opportunity to visit a few other interesting places. Southeast of Wolgastsee lies the small, very romantic forest lake Schwarzes Herz. A hiking trail also leads to this lake. Just a little further east begins the Zerninmoor, a very interesting, extensive biotope.

The tour around Lake Wolgast takes us very close to the border with Poland and is also suitable for inexperienced hikers and families with children.
