Just before Gorgo, coming from Fratta and along the bike path, a well-marked road leads to the ancient church of Santa Cristina, recently restored. Passing through a modern iron gate, you enter the quiet and charming site. The church is first mentioned in 1329 when the nobleman Enrico Squarra left a legacy in his will to the "Ecclesiae B. It is now used for exhibitions and events. The site is open only during the summer (May-September) on the first Sunday of every month from 2:30 PM to 7:00 PM. The town of Gorgo is one of the most picturesque and ancient in the municipality. This small rural village owes its name to the swirling waters of an ancient branch of the Tagliamento River, now extinct, that passed through its territory in Roman times... ...Despite recent construction work, Gorgo still features some buildings with architectural features attributable to its past as a bishop's fiefdom: along Via Pellico, an ancient tower and the walls that once surrounded the village stand out. Wide porticoes once provided access to numerous internal courtyards. Following Via Pellico, you soon reach the innermost part of the village, characterized by the presence of the bishop's large manor house, now privately owned. The Prati delle Pars encompass an area of approximately 4 hectares and represent an example of successful environmental redevelopment within the Municipality of Teglio Veneto. The project was born thanks to a group of passionate naturalists, united by the desire to transform and restore the original conformation of the countryside, which had become a mere agricultural meadow. The first land donations began in 1994, eventually reaching 40,000 square meters. The Prati delle Pars Association has succeeded in dividing the area into large expanses of wooded meadows, particularly oaks and maples, hedges, a small grove, a pond, and, of course, areas with varieties of flora and fauna.
