At the beginning of November, the turtle laying tubes exposed by egg predators were also interesting. However, I couldn't clearly identify fresh tracks in the sand. Rodents, lizards, maybe birds?

Thousands of the endangered loggerhead sea turtles “Caretta caretta” find one of their last spawning grounds on Iztuzu Beach in summer. In the evening the females come out of the sea and lay their eggs between deck chairs and sandcastles. Volunteers ensure that nothing happens to the eggs. The region is also an important place for animal rights activists where they can study these sea turtles, which are threatened with extinction, in peace. But sunbathers and sea lovers can also swim at Iztuzu Beach. The beach belongs to bathers during the day and to turtles in the evening. The beach is closed from 6 p.m. so that the shy animals can be undisturbed. In the mid-1980s, it was thanks to the loggerhead sea turtle and the commitment of animal rights activists from all over the world that a large 600-bed hotel was built on the beach and the idyllic beach fell victim to mass tourism. Iztuzu Beach is located in a nature reserve. This is where the false loggerhead turtle (Caretta Caretta) lays its eggs. The large sea turtles are critically endangered. That's why the beach is particularly well monitored during the egg-laying period. You are not allowed to enter Iztuzu Beach between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. in the morning. Swimming is possible during the day. However, pets such as dogs and cats are not allowed on the beach. Iztuzu Beach keeps changing its shape and length.
