Something's been mixed up here. The bronze sculpture "The Three Generations" is located about 100 meters further west of here. At the entrance to the pedestrian zone, however, there are two stone pillars with different motifs flanking the path on either side.

The small, artificial stream runs through the middle of the city and beneath the pedestrian zone. From its source, the confluence of the Rodau and Wiedau streams, to its confluence with the Wümme, it measures 700 meters. The Stadtstreek (City Tree) was created artificially in 1566: construction debris from a major fire was dumped into the Alt-Wiedau stream, creating a new watercourse that was later expanded into a small canal through the center of the city. It is particularly visible between the Old Pharmacy and the two city warehouses. At the city warehouse, which houses a restaurant, steps lead down to the stream. Here you can take a break and cool your feet. There are also several benches along the stream for a rest. The bridge, which leads through the pedestrian zone over the Stadtstreek, is decorated with geraniums every May. Rudolf Schäfer House: The historic house at Große Straße 15 houses a small museum dedicated to the history and work of the renowned church painter Rudolf Schäfer. At the end of the Stadtstreek in Rotenburg's pedestrian zone, your attention will be drawn to a beautiful old half-timbered house: the "Alte Apotheke" (Old Pharmacy), a house dating from 1835 with a charming entrance area that has been photographed and painted many times. The door features a brass knocker and doorknob made by the Ehlermann and Kovatsay iron foundry. A pharmacy still operates inside today, possessing a very special charm. As part of the 23rd Rotenburg Potato Market, on October 4, 2008, this sculpture, representing the market's mascot, was unveiled on one of the sandstone pedestals of the Geranium Bridge. It was created by the sculptor Erich Gerer based on a design by Holger Roselieb, the creator of Knolli. The idea had existed since 1999, but was only realized in 2008 through the initiative of the international Rotenburg regulars' table of the "Mistböcke/-bienen" (a local group) and numerous donations from the city's residents. The bronze sculpture "The Three Generations" in Rotenburg is an impressive work of art created in 1995 by the artist Carsten Eggers. The sculpture depicts a grandmother, a mother, and a child sitting together on a bench. It was donated by the Rotenburg entrepreneur and honorary citizen Hinrich Heineke. The depiction of the three generations is clear and appealing. The grandmother, whose bag the child leans towards, almost always has something left behind that the mother doesn't have. Children look into the grandmother's bag as they pass by and enjoy the artwork just as much as adults. The sculpture is located in the middle of Rotenburg's pedestrian zone and is easily accessible. A visit to the sculpture can be easily combined with a stroll through the pedestrian zone or a walk on the 8-kilometer-long Rotenburg Cultural Trail, which connects the city's most important art and cultural sites.
