The chapel belongs to the Holy Spirit Hospital, founded around 1336, which was located directly outside Angermünde's former city walls and was completely destroyed during the Thirty Years' War. In 1698, the chapel was transferred to the French Reformed congregation of Angermünde, subsequently repaired, and a half-timbered tower was added. This was rebuilt in 1775. Very nice view over the Oder and the surrounding area! The cycle path along the railway line is well developed.

At the beginning of the bridge on the Polish side sits a bronze statue of Wladislaw Bartoszewski. He served as Polish foreign minister for two years, was a prisoner in Auschwitz and subsequently imprisoned for a long time during the communist era. Highly honored, he was committed to German-Polish-Jewish reconciliation. There is a current proposal to name the bridge after him.
