The most famous lake in the Bakony Mountains, its popularity is perhaps due to the tree trunks protruding from the lake, which is very similar to Lake Gyilkos in Transylvania.

The lake got its name from the famous Transylvanian lake, due to the sight of tree stumps protruding from the water surface.

The cave entrance can be reached via a steep path.

The lake can be most easily reached from Gerencepuszta, with an easy, short hike, which is an excellent family outing with minimal elevation gain.

We can approach the Cave from the Gerence Valley in 2 ways, or even (this way we can make it a short but more strenuous circular tour) These are: - Through the private forestry road, following the red cave sign, which is pleasant on the dirt road, but then the road leads up to the cave on steep stairs - From the Gerence Valley parking lot on the KDP Red lane (Pecsételődoboz a fán), up the stairs, which is steep at the beginning, but later on not strenuous, takes you towards the cave. However, here we should pay attention that we have to turn off the red lane towards the red cave sign. The Cave itself is a pretty nice (spacious) opening, about 20 meters long, and bats live in it. If we choose a circular tour, the length from the parking lot to the cave and back is about 1.5 km, but we should definitely calculate the serious elevation gain in the short term. The cave is a stop for several hiking and performance tours, such as the Öreg Bakony Bakancsosa, but the red lane of the Central Transdanubian Red Hiking Tour passes nearby. A prominent Bakony attraction, worth visiting.

At the top of Kőris-hegy, you can find the lookout point on the National Blue Trail Line (also Stamp Place), a few meters from the parking lot, which is next to the radar station. Because of the radar, we don't have a panoramic view, but what we can see is beautiful: Vértes, the Kisalföld, the Balaton highlands, Somlóhegy are all looming in front of us. You can also go up by bike, either from the direction of Zirc or Bakonybél, on a relatively tolerable quality asphalt road. Let's be prepared that the asphalt road from Bakonybél to the summit is at least 10 km long, and even on foot it is about 6 km. Both tours have a strong difference in level, not by chance: we climb to the highest point of Bakony.

It was created by swelling, the way the tree trunks stick out of the water - that's what makes it special. It is surrounded by a picnic area and the Hubertlaki hunting lodge. The shortest way is to go up from the Huszárokelöpuszta junction, on the gravel road.

The radar station and the Vajda Péter lookout are only 50 m apart, but only 2 hiking trails lead to the lookout. The asphalt road ends in front of the radar station. The steps to the observation deck are very steep and slippery in rainy weather! The view is unparalleled: The Bakony, Vértes and Balaton highlands can also be seen. The northern half is the Little Plain. It's worth coming up!
