Yoorn Walk is a lovely bush track that links Camel Lake Heritage Trail with the longer Zamia Trail. The path winds through banksia woodland typical of Perth’s coastal bushland, passing through dense native vegetation and sandy soil. It’s a quiet connection between the park’s walking routes, offering an up-close look at the diverse plant life of the Swan Coastal Plain.

Camel Lake Heritage Trail is a relatively short interpretive walking track that loops around the former Camel Lake wetland area. It's a beautiful path that winds through banksia and tuart woodland, with signs explaining the natural environment and early history of the landscape. It’s an easy walk that focuses on the diverse plant life typical of Perth’s coastal bushland.

Sir James Mitchell Park boasts one of the best views of the Perth downtown skyline, from across Perth Water. This park has a large grassy area, dotted with clusters of trees for optional relaxation in the shade, a cycleway, beachfront sandy paths, barbecue areas, boat ramps, and more. Public art is tucked throughout the park, and it's lit up at night, making for a nice stroll and a view of the city.

Barrack Square sits adjacent to the busy Elizabeth Quay and is the iconic heart of Perth City. Visitors will find the Bell Tower, with a souvenir shop and a star-viewing platform, the Perth Explorer Bus, and ferries to Fremantle and Rottnest Island.

Located along the waterfront at Elizabeth Quay, the First Contact sculpture by Noongar artist Laurel Nannup tells a story from the early encounters between Noongar people and European ships arriving on the Swan River. The 5-metre-tall aluminium sculpture is shaped like a bird with outstretched wings, representing how the Noongar people believed the distant sailing ships looked like giant birds carrying the spirits of their ancestors. Set beside the water, the artwork is a meaningful cultural stop along the path and an important reminder of the area’s deeper history.

This quiet riverside viewpoint offers one of the best perspectives of the Perth skyline across the Swan River. A bench sits beside the path, making it a great place to pause and take in the cityscape rising above the water. Just below the viewpoint, a small pier extends out into the river, bringing you closer to the water and offering an even clearer look back toward the skyline.

In the middle of the Swan River, Heirisson Island is home to a small sanctuary where visitors can sometimes see western grey kangaroos roaming freely. Walking paths loop through the island’s grassy bushland, offering a surprisingly quiet nature break just minutes from central Perth. The kangaroos are wild but often accustomed to people, so with a bit of patience you may spot them resting under trees or grazing in the open areas.

Known for its beautiful wildflowers, diverse birdlife, and excellent views. Bold Park is a great place to bring the family for a day out exploring the trails. At 437-hectares there is more than enough to keep you occupied and the excellent trail system allows you to pick the right path for you.
