Beach between the Princes' Island in the Great Plön Lake with a sandy beach and DLRG. At the end of the idyllic Princes' Island is the natural beach with a view of the sunset included. As a destination for a day trip or a rest stop, you should not miss the approximately 100 m wide, gently sloping sandy beach. The bathing area can only be reached on foot, by bike or by excursion boat. The bathing area is guarded by the DLRG and has a kiosk, toilet, shower, playground and in summer also a volleyball net. Parking spaces are located on the Ascheberger Chaussee (approx. 2 km to the bathing area).

The Bosau lido is hidden between rolling hills and lush greenery, an idyllic gem on the banks of the majestic Plön Lake in Schleswig-Holstein. Here, where the water gently laps against the shore, lies the canoe launch site, a gateway to unforgettable adventures on the sparkling lake. The canoe launch site is more than just a starting point for water sports enthusiasts. It is a place where the heart of nature beats and everyday life fades into the background.

Around 1570, Duke Johann of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg had Lake Plön dammed. This changed the landscape: Bosau became a peninsula. In 1881/82, the water level was lowered again. As a result, part of the former Slavic settlement area reappeared.[7] In 1939, the Hellmuth Walter KG company from Kiel acquired land on Lake Plön and set up its factory test site in Stadtbek. Torpedoes and the slotted tube sling were tested here. The latter was a chemical steam sling that was used until the end of the war. The Fi 103 flying bomb, later called Vergeltungswaffe 1 or V1, was hurled into the air by the Walter slotted tube sling (catapult) using a steam piston at a speed of 350 km/h. The piston was released and the Fi 103 continued to fly with its own pulse drive. Buildings of the test site, built on piles in the lake, were blown up by the Allies after the war.

Bosau was already settled in pre-Christian times. The place name Bosau is derived from the Wendish term Bozowe, which probably contains a personal name. On the opposite peninsula Bischofswarder, which was much larger at the time due to the lower water level, there was a Slavic ring castle in the 8th/9th century.[4] Around the year 980, Buzu is mentioned as a farm owned by the Bishopric of Oldenburg. The bishopric was destroyed in connection with the Slavic uprising of 983. When Vizelin, the bishop of the Bishopric of Oldenburg, which was re-established in 1149, used Bosau as a base for his mission, the farm mentioned around 980 was probably no longer there, because Vizelin had a quae dicitur on the insula[]
