St. George's Church in Thüngen is an Evangelical Lutheran parish church with a long history closely linked to the noble family of the Barons von Thüngen. For centuries, the church was the spiritual center of the Barons von Thüngen's rule, who converted to Protestantism during the Reformation. A unique feature is the active ecumenical spirit in the community. Due to declining attendance at the Catholic church on Wendelberg, Catholic services have also been held in the Evangelical St. George's Church for several years.

Thüngen boasts several significant half-timbered houses that shape the historic townscape. Particularly noteworthy are the buildings within the castle grounds and the characteristic townhouses. On the main street and around the village square, one can find gable-fronted half-timbered houses dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. Many of these historic townhouses exhibit structural features typical of Lower Franconia, such as the "Franconian man" (a specific bracing method used in half-timbered construction).

Thüngen Manor, located in the Lower Franconian town of Thüngen, is a historic estate closely associated with the noble family of the Barons von Thüngen. The grounds encompass several striking buildings with a history spanning over 1000 years. These include the castle, the hospital, and the "Old Stock" (a historic building). The buildings are privately owned and serve as the family's residence. Interior tours are generally not available, but parts of the grounds can be visited. The manor boasts magnificent rooms, such as an office with valuable wood inlays. The estate is known for its own brand, "Herzog von Franken" (Duke of Franconia), which produces award-winning single malt whisky, beer brandies, and various beers. The estate's products can be purchased directly on-site or through the estate's online shop.

The fortification (the Wahr ) has already been renewed

The restaurant “Schloß-Stuben” with the beer garden and a bowling alley is also located in the Burgsinner Castle, but is currently mostly closed because a new tenant has been sought for some time.

Anyone who wants to get married in a castle can have their civil marriage here. The Renaissance Hall is on the first floor of Burgsinner Castle. It offers around 25 seats and space for a few standing places. The hall can be reached via a staircase. The marriage registration and the date reservation for the wedding date must be made at the Zellingen registry office. The weir was dilapidated and was replaced by a wooden footbridge in 2024. Illustration and explanation on a board that belongs to the hiking trail into the Werntal but is still visible.
