The Catholic parish church in Ried is dedicated to the patron saint of St. Nicholas. The first building was constructed between 1160 and 1165, and in 1179, this church was mentioned as an independent parish in a letter from the then Pope. The church in its present size was built between 1476 and 1522, after the previous building had to be closed due to dilapidation. After a fire in 1736 and its partial destruction, the building underwent extensive restoration. Further restorations took place repeatedly in the following decades, most recently in 1986 when Solnhofen slabs were laid as flooring. A special feature of this church is the ivy-covered lower section of the church tower, which was declared a natural monument by the government of Upper Austria in 1984 due to its density and compactness. Branch church Weigersdorf  The name Weigersdorf appears first documented in the 12th century, the church was consecrated in 1162. Around 1437, the construction of the presbytery began under Abbot Ulrich. It was completed in 1476, and inaugurated in August by Auxiliary Bishop Albert of Passau. The branch church Weigersdorf is built in late gothic style. The altars and the pulpit, however, date back to the baroque era. The church is equipped with three altars. The high altar is in honor of the holy martyrs Oswald, John and Paul. A side altar is dedicated to St. Wolfgang, St. Leonard and St. Hieronimus, and the second side altar to the holy martyrs Sebastian, Panataleon and Achatius. Furthermore, numerous statues of saints adorn the gothic church.

Parish church Ried in Traunkreis  In the years from 1476 to 1480, the church was built in the late Gothic style. The portals were added in 1522 and the sacristy in 1874. The last restoration took place in 1986, where everything was repaired from bricklaying up to the restoration of the altars and crossroads (from 1882). The interior of the church consists of a high altar, on which the statues of St. Joseph, St. Nicholas (patron saint) and John the Baptist stand. Furthermore there is a Floriani altar with St. Apollonia and St. Rochus and a Marian altar with St. Wolfgang and St. Leonhard. As a landmark, the parish church of Ried, serves the ivy-covered tower.
